PRINTS!

Alright so here is the final print of "David of Our Day." I think it turned out well. It was super hard to keep my values consistent with each print because of wiping (of the ink) process. It still looks good.
The other print is my first print of using acid. Not me like on acid, but using acid to make indentations or lines on a copper plate. It's pretty cool. Anyway I wanted to do something with strong hard lines instead of the soft look of the David print. Like I said its my first print so I have lots of pencil on it. I'm trying to decide what line work and values to use. This print is eventually supposed to be combined with another persons print in class. We have to both meet at certain points of our paper. I'll explain that later, but for now I'm happy with the idea. Mario is just fun! Do you remember how fun old school Mario 3 was? So fun!

FINAL PICTOGRAMS

These are my final pictograms that I completed for my Computer and Art class. You can see that they look much better than my rough drafts. From left to right we have: Ultimate Aggie, True Aggie, and the Scotsman. The Scotsman was the pictogram that I struggled with the most. It's hard to make an image that can read well far away. If I placed a lot of people together it would have looked strange far away. I also incorporated Big Blue (the school mascot) in between two fans to show that its a game setting. We were supposed to show one set in color and the other in black and white. One was to read large and the other to read small. I like them!

So here are my Aggie traditions that I tried to relay. I've some different looks for each idea or tradition. One is being a "True Aggie" (which is kissing on the A, on a full moon at midnight) the other is singing the Scotsman song (which is done always done at sporting events, it includes actions that people use during the song), the last one is riding the Aggie bull statue to be an Ultimate Aggie. Which apparently you are supposed to do in the buff, but I just don't want to be that detailed.
I think that I'm still struggling a little with the Scotsman image. Maybe I'll incorporate Big Blue(our school mascot) in with the Student fans. That way it won't look like a choir. I guess I need to work on the "True Aggie" image as well; shorten the skirt on the girl and work on proportions of the figures.

This is a dry print idea that I had for my printmaking class. I like the idea of showing what today's ideal hero or male looks like and does. I did this all in photoshop. I manually drew in the ipod, headphones, and surfboard to show what "today's Daniel" looks like.

This is my tiger that I did for the tracing assignment in illustrator. It took a long time...even though it might not look like it doesn't.
